26-02-2016 : Declaration of result of JHT in Kerala circle:- The LICE for promotion to Junior Hindi Translator Cadre was held on 25-09-2011 but result has not been declared. The union has drawn the attention of BSNL HQR and they desired details.
26-02-2016 : Meeting with GMT (Adm):-President and circle Secy, Jammu – Kashmir met GM (Admn) and told him that for last 10 years uniforms have not been supplied to staff in the circle. Circle has sent a proposal. The union has pressed for early reply and settlement of the matter.
26-02-2016 : Mass meeting at Coimbatore on 25th Feb, 2016:- A mass meeting was organized at main Telephone Exchange campus Coimbatore in a grand manner. It was presided over by Com. Robert and addressed by Com. Subbarayam Distt. Secy, Com. Ramakrishnan former Distt. Secy, Com. Muthukrishnan circle Secy. SEWA BSNL, Com. R. Pattabiraman C.S. NFTE, Com. R.K, Com. S.S. The leaders explained and exhorted each and every issues related to staff as well as issues related to survival viability and development of the BSNL Company. 25-02-2016 : Meeting with GM(PSNL)/Rectt/Estt:- President met the GM concerned and apprised him about acute shortage of staff in TM and Sr. TOA Cadres. All have agreed to hold early exam for Deptl candidates for promotion to TM Cadre. As for as TTA rectt in outside quota is considered the proposal is pending for clearance by Board.

24-02-2016 : GPF fund allotted:- Corporate office has allotted GPF fund today. However, fund has not been allotted to such circles which have not furnished requisite information sought by BSNL HQR.

23-02-2016 : Meeting with DDG(Est) at Sanchar Bhavan:- President met Shri Jain, DDG (Est) in DOT and raised following points:- (I) Issuance of POS to TSMs and now RMs:- DDG told cases are being expeditiously settled. The cases of Aurangabad in Maharashtra were referred to which he responded and wanted BSNL HQR’s reference. The union will supply details tomorrow. (II) Reinstatement cases of Shri R. Authony Sami, SS STR Madurai. (III) Pension revision on 78.2% IDA fixation benefit:- There is progress in the matter and discussions with Secy, DOT are awaited.
23-02-2016 : Recoveries from qualified and trained RMs borne in Lineman scale:- The GM(Est) has been apprised of that employees in Lineman scale are facing huge recoveries on appointment to the Cadre of TM. She has desired for submission of concrete cases.
23-02-2016 : Mistaken recoveries:- President mentioned about the difficulties of civil wing staff in Maharashtra due to incorrect fixation of pay and now facing recoveries. GM (Est) agreed to get it examined.
23-02-2016 : JTO LICE:- President told GM(Rectt) and GM(Est) that cases filed in other Courts, Orissa and Kerala be studied and then decision be taken to prevent further litigation in JTO LICE.
23-02-2016 : Promotion of qualified and phase – I trained TTAs of Ex-servicemen category:- Management is awaiting the decision of Court.
23-02-2016 : Grant of one increment to Post 2007 entrants other than TTAs:- Proposal for grant of one increment to Pre-2007 entrants in the analogy of TTAs has been sent to Board after clearance by management committee. The board meeting is taking place on 4th March and the issue will be considered there.

22-02-2016 : All India Conference of TEPU at Chennai on 21-02-2016:- G.S. addressed the open session of A.I.C. of Telecom Employees progressive union (TEPU) at Chennai on 21-02-2016. Com. R.K, Com. 20-02-2016 : 7th membership verification inaugural meeting at Mysore on 19-02-2016:- District union of Mysore organized a meeting of Karnataka circle under the Presidentship of Com. Krishna Mohan to inaugurate campaign for 7th membership verification. Com. K.S. Sheshadri Secretary CHQ, Com. A.C. Krishna Reddy CS, Com. Ranganna District President Bengaluru, Com. Shanmugam Treasurer Bangaluru and senior leaders participated in the meeting. All leaders inaugurated the campaign in the true spirit. Com. 20-02-2016 : Bank loan facility:- The GM(BF) informed the President on 19th February that MOU with two banks will be finalized within two weeks with better concessions and conditions.
20-02-2016 : GPF Fund:- GPF fund will be allotted to circles on Monday dated 22nd February, 2016. However fund will not be released in respect of such circles which have not furnished the requisite information to BSNL HQR. This was told to President by GM(BF) on 19th instant. Therefore, circle Secretaries are requested to meet IFAs and impress upon them to respond to corporate office requirements in respect of GPF very urgently.
20-02-2016 : NFTE (BSNL) has submitted application to participate in the 7th verification.
20-02-2016 : JTO LICE:- It is learnt that some Comrades in Kerala and Orissa have also approached to Court relating to JTO LICE scheduled to take place on 8th May, 2016. Thus there are complications due to litigation NFTE HQR will discuss the entire matter with all the stake holders to avoid more complications.

19-02-2016 : Meeting with CMD, BSNL:- President and Com. Rajmouli, Treasurer met the CMD on 18th February on the eve of scheduled BSNL Board meeting of 4th March, 2016 and solicited his help and intervention on following issues. (I) Change of designation proposal of 4 main stream Cadres viz TTA, Sr. TOA, TM and RM. (II) Superannuation benefits proposal in respect of DR staff. It was mentioned to him that there are officials who have completed 15 years of service but are without social guarantee. (III) CMD was also apprised of as till date Adhoc PLI issue has not been resolved despite clear direction from him.
19-02-2016 : Superannuation benefits to BSNL D/R recruited employees:- The “SR Cell” of BSNL HQR intimated around 1430 hours on 18th instant that urgent meeting will be held at 1600 hours between unions and Director (HR) on extension of pensionery benefits to BSNL recruited employees. Com. Islam attended the meeting from NFTE(BSNL) side. AIBSNLEA representatives were present. The Chairman, Director (HR)/Finance told in clear terms that after prolonged exercise the management has decided for payment of 3% contribution. NFTE pleaded for enhancement but it was not agreed to. We were told that the issue may be sent to board which is meeting on 4th March else it will remain pending. It was pointed out again by NFTE that D/R employees have completed 15 years of service and they should not be without social guarantee. Director (HR) /F has also told that the contribution will be reviewed every year and it is just beginning but enhancement of contribution is not possible.

11-02-2016 : Big and impressive meeting at Delhi:- A very impressive meeting took place today at Central Telegraph office auditorium, Eastern Court New Delhi in which more than 300 employees including ladies in abundance were present. Comrades Rajpal, CS NTR, H.N. Sharma, CS corporate office, M.P. Singh Circle President corporate office, S.K. Sharma etc addressed. Com. Baljeet President presided the meeting. Speaking on the occasion Com. Islam thanked the employees for large scale presence in the meeting and told that the NFTE (BSNL) has taken care of the interest of staff for last three years and today situation is different. He appealed to workers to support the union in verification and in turn NFTE will definitely deliver the goods. Comrades Jagdish and Ramkumar were accorded farewell also on the occasion.
10-02-2016 : HRA on 78.2% IDA merger:- Expenditures involved are yet to be finalized. CHQ is vigorously persuing the matter.
10-02-2016 : Meeting with CMD, BSNL:- President met CMD on 8th instant and drew his attention towards the growth of Telecom services. There is backwardness in Telengana region and growth of BB is not possible specially in rural sector. The suggestion of PGM, Warangal in A.P. was told to him. He has suggested to take optical fibre lines on lease for mobile connectivity upto Gram panchayats level. The PGM, Shri Narendra, has offered that the proposal be experimented with at Warangal and promised for good result. The CMD indicated positive response. President also impressed upon him to honour the assurances made earlier with the union.

08-02-2016 : JAO-II Deptl examination:- vacancies are ready and being sent to the competent authority for approval. After submission of vacancies Rectt cell will notify the LICE. President met GM(FP) and GM(R) both for one time concession to employees to appear in LICE of JAO – II. It was told that the entire issue will go again to Board for one time relaxation and enough time will be consumed. GMs are having hitch in this regard. 06-02-2016 : Meeting at Warangal:- A mass meeting was held on 5th Feb at GM office. It has been addressed by President NFTE, Circle Secy, District Secretaries of Nalgonda, Nizamabad were present. Com. Sajjanrao presided. DS, Com. Ramarao delivered welcome address. Com. Islam explained status of BSNL, pension and other issues. He exhorted the employees to discharge their responsibilities sincerely and smilingly. He sought cooperation from employees for NFTE in 7th verification to face the challenges.

05-02-2016 : Com. A.S. Kushwaha, former circle financial Secy, Vice President and affectionate leader of Eastern (UP) circle expired today. It is great loss to the union and employees in East (UP). CHQ mourns his death and conveys heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
05-02-2016 : Meeting and Seminar at Hyderabad on 04-02-2016:- A well attended meeting took place at “Asman Mahal auditorium”, under the presidentship of Com. Narender. District president. A seminar was organised in the auditorium on “BSNL survival, management and workers role”. PGM TD &GM(HR) addressed the gathering. President NFTE, circle president, circle Secretary and other leaders addressed from union side. Com. Islam urged the gathering to satisfy customers at all cost. 04-02-2016 : General Secretary and Com. Rajmouli Secy HQR met with the GM (Estt) and requested to resolve the long pending issue of presidential order in respect of Shri Nale D.A. RM and Shri Bhujbal L.K. RM of Aurangabad SSA(M.H.). The GM(Est) talked on phone to GM(HR) Maharashtra circle and asked him to send the proper report without further delay. The separate letter in respect of two officials have not been received in corporate office till today. GM(Est) assured to resolve the issue early.
04-02-2016 : Meeting with GM(Restg):- G.S. and Com. Rajmouli met with GM(Restg) and requested him to arrange early approval of change in designation from BSNL Board, which has already approved by the management committee of BSNL. The GM (Restg) informed that the proposal is ready for approval in the ensuing BSNL Board meeting.
04-02-2016 : General Secretary and Com. Rajmouli Secretary HQR met GM(Rectt) and pursued the case of non declaring the result of TTA LICE by the circle management of Himachal Pradesh Telecom circle. The exam held on 07-06-2015 but the result is still pending without any valid reason. The GM(Rectt) assured to intervene.

02-02-2016 : A.P. Circle Executive Committee meeting at Eluru (West Godawari):- The CEC meeting held on 29th & 30th Jan, 2016 under the Presidentship of Com. Anjaneyulu Circle President. About 450 delegates participated in meeting. The meeting was organised in well decorated hall. The two days session was started at 11.00 am on 29-01-2016. All the District Secretaries and circle office bearers took part in debate on agenda circulated in notification. The G.S. addressed the subject committee meeting on 29th evening and exhorted all HR issue and financial position of BSNL. Open Session:- An open session was organised at 3 pm on 30th Jan, 2016 which was presided over by Com. Anjaneyulu. The meeting was addressed by Com. Chandrashekhar Rao circle Secretary. Shri V. 09-01-2016 : Meeting of the committee to review BSNL MRS was held on 8th January under the Chairmanship of Shri S.K. Sinha GM(Admn). The other committee members present were Shri Ram Shakal Adl GM(SR), Shri S. Hanumanta Rao, DGM(CM). Shri Rao was representing Shri Mathur PGM(CF). Com. Chandeshwar Singh, General Secretary NFTE and Com. Abhimanyu General Secretary, BSNLEU represented as committee members in the meeting. A thorough discussion took place in respect of difficulties being faced by the workers in reimbursement of Medical claims specially none of the good hospitals are ready to provide treatment on CGHS rates. G.S. NFTE raised the difficulties faced by the staff of NTR where the same hospitals are empanelled which are empanelled for corporate office but the similar treatment are not available for NTR staff. The management side reported that difficulties are arising due to delay in payment of bills of concerned hospitals by NTR management. Finally it was decided to - (1) Collect information from other PSUs like coal India, SBI, BHEL etc to study how those organizations are dealing with the Medical issues. 08-01-2016 : Preparations for facing Seventh membership verification in Chennai Telephones circle:- At Pallavaram a meeting of Branch, Division and District Union office bearers of Kanchipuram district was held to prepare for the ensuing 7th membership verification. 120 comrades attentively participated in this meeting which was addressed by Com. 08-01-2016 : Meeting with PGM(SR):- General Secretary and Com. Rajmouli Treasurer CHQ met PGM(SR) and discussed verification issue. 07-01-2016 : HQR congratulates staff and officers for achieving more than fixed targets in mobile segment in December 2015, The circles achieved more than fixed target are Jharkhand(110%), Kolkata(100%), North East (106%), Rajasthan (114%), Chennai (124%), T.N. (114%) & Maharashtra (141%). The other circles like Assam, Bihar, Orissa, H.P., UP(E), UP(W) and Madyapradesh also very nearer to 100% figure. All circles have given 1756190 mobile connections in December, 2015, which is higher than July’2015. We hope better results in 2016.
06-01-2016 : Farewell meeting in Corporate office:- Com. H.N. Sharma C.S. C.O. arranged a meeting under the Chairmanship of Com. M.P. Singh in conference hall. Two minutes silence was observed in the meeting to pay rich tributes to Com. O.P.Gupta Ji, on his 3rd anniversary. 06-01-2016 : 3 rd Anniversary of comrade OP Gupta was observed in Chennai Telephones circle on 06-01-2016:- At Thiruvallur the bronze statue of our leader OP Gupta was garlanded by circle secretary C K Mathivanan and two minutes silence was observed by more than 100 comrades. 06-01-2016 : 3rd DEATH ANNIVERSARY OF COM. O.P. GUPTA JI:- The visionary and unparallel leader expired on 06-01-2013. Three years passed, but we cannot forget his working style with tolerance in uplifting the oppressed, suppressed and down trodden workers in P&T. His untiring efforts to regularize one lakh casual labourers/RTP staff was memorable in the history of trade union movement. He sacrificed his life to the cause of workers in long 60 years. He strongly believed “Success in Unity”, so he was called as a unifier. He was only a leader, who got succeeded Govt. pension and job security to employees working in a public sector. 04-01-2016 : Ardhendu Bhushan Bardhan, CPI Stalwart passed away at 92:- Com. A.B. Barden, a veteran has taken his last breath on 02-01-2016 in New Delhi. He was a key figure in Trade Union movement. He was a blunt man, born at Sylhet, now in Bangladesh. He came to Nagpur at the age of five years. He worked as full time student organizer in AISF (All India Students Federation) from 1940. In 1957, he was elected for a five year term to the Maharashtra Assembly. He steered the party during the turbulent period coalition politics in National level in 1990’s. (i) Financial assistance to flood victims of Chennai TD and Tamilnadu:- Union demanded for settlement as in the case of J & K before Pongal festival. He responded favourably. (ii) PLI to employees:- He was reminded his earlier promise on which he agreed to discuss with Director (F) urgently. (iii) Complaints of the allottees in NTR:- The entire enquiry staff relating to the colonies at Delhi NTR have been under the control of corporate office. But no mechanism has been evolved to attend the complaints of the allottees. CMD promised to look into the matter. (iv) Torture of TTA at Rewa in MP:- The CMD has been apprised of and requested to prevent the torture of the particular TTA at the hands of interested quarters.

  15-12-2015 : Informal meeting with the GM(Est):- President and circle Secy of corporate office met the GM(Est) and discussed the following points. (I) Review of deserving cases of CGA which have been rejected. She was told very limited cases are pending. She is apparently not in favour of this. (II) Calculation of JTO vacancies to facilitate early LIDCE- in course of discussions she was told incorrect information has been given on 11th instant in the meeting with Director (HR). (III) Rule 8 transfer:- The unions pointed out the difficulties being faced by staff in rule 8 transfers particularly TTAs as their applications are not being forwarded. The ladies are sufferings much and as such cases should be considered sympathetically.
  15-12-2015 : Informal Meeting with the GM(Restg):- Informal meeting took place with GM(Restg) also. The agreement on change in designation is being processed for the consideration of Management committee.
  15-12-2015 : Meeting with GM(Personnel):- President and circle Secy, NFTE(BSNL) in corporate office met the GM(Personnel) on 13th instant and mentioned the hardships of MP circle on account of out of syllabus and wrong questions in LIDCE examination for promotion to TTA Cadre. He was told that orders are not being followed in the circle. The GM(Personnel) maintained that orders of corporate office have to be followed and implemented.

  14-12-2015 : Circle Executive Committee Meeting at Patna:- G.S. attended CEC of NFTE Bihar circle at Patna on 12th Dec. 2015. Com. B.N. Sinha presided. Out of 20 District Branch 16 Districts Secretaries attended the meeting besides all circle office bearers and took part in debate on the issues as notified earlier. The main problem raised by the most of the Districts were unhappy due to non-issuance of precedential order to about 80 employees who opted in time for absorption in BSNL. TTA- LICE result not published even after laps of 6 months. The examination was conducted on 07 June, 2015. Several staff issues are still pending. HPC for CGA quota has not been conducted and all instructions of corporate office are thrown in dustbin. Decisions taken in circle council meeting are not implemented. The sanctioned and approved vacancies for CGA have been reduced arbitrarily. So far service and development is concerned it is towards freezing point. A huge amount of money is expended on diesel even after better availability of electric supply. G.S. while addressing the meeting requested to all participants not to fall in anger as the BSNL is turning towards better financial position. Hence we all should pledge to bring our company back to its previous glory. Talking in respect of staff issues and services related issues. G.S. assured to take up all issues at higher management level for settlement. The industrial peace is need of time in the company. Harmonic condition can give a better result. Deviasingamani, TM, who lost his life in floods while returning from duty. His dead body recovered after three days. Forum leaders paid moral tributes to departed soul and observed two minutes silence in the meeting.   09-12-2015 : Mass workers meeting at Amritsar on 05-12-2015:- An Awareness meeting was conducted under the Presidentship of Com. Paramjit Singh on 5th Dec, 2015 at Albbat Road Telephone Exchange in retiring room, Amritsar. The meeting started with opening speech of Com. K.B. Baba Distt. Secy Amritsar. Com. Surjeet Singh Circle Secy while addressing the meeting explained the organizational position of the entire circle. He also pointed out some suffering of staff who were transferred in rural area but could not brought back at their parent station as per transfer policy circulated by BSNL CO. Senior leader Com. H.S. Gill, Com. Mohinder Singh A.I. Vice President and Com. C.Singh G.S. also addressed the gathering. Com. Singh exhorted in detail about financial position of BSNL and pending staff related issues. He reported that our company has turned towards positive direction operational loss but it come to a profit of Rs. 672 crore.   01-12-2015 : Meeting with CMD BSNL:- The informal meeting took place on 30th November in which President and G.S. participated. At the outset the union representatives pressed for settlement of PLI issue on which the CMD again responded favourably. He was told that the employees are being denied HRA on 78.2% IDA, LTC and Medical allowance to which he reacted that the wage revision in year 2017 is his priority and sought workers cooperation. He was told very categorically and emphatically that the employees are prepared to work hard but shortage of materials, equipments stand in the way. There is paucity of “CP” due to which Wi-Max connection are not being provided. There are acute shortage of middle level officers as well as of GMs in the field. The management could not recruit such personnel from outside which are affecting PSU. In the last he was firmly told that the motivation of staff is very necessary to earn more revenue for the company.

13-10-2015 : District conference and Seminar at Gugaon on 09-10-2015:- Gurgaon SSA conducted District conference on 09-10-2015. On the occasion a seminar was organized at commercial building of BSNL Gurgaon under the presidentship of Com. Kapoor Singh Sr. TOA. The subject of seminar was “Steps to be taken for revival of BSNL” was placed by Com. Kapoor Singh in the house. More than 200 employees including ladies were attended the seminar. The gathering was addressed by Com. S.P. Malhan CHQ Vice President, Com. Goel C.S. Haryana, Com. Chandeshwar Singh, General Secretary and several circle & District level leaders of the SSA addressed the seminar. Shri Uma Shankar Pandey Sr. GM Telecom and SSA head of Gurgaon, Shri Rakesh Srivastav and other officers were also attended addressed the seminar. Com. C. 08-10-2015 : Meeting with CMD BSNL:- President and General Secretary met the CMD and following issues were raised and discussed. (1) Formation of Tower Company and representation of BSNL management:- Director (CM) and GM(Infra) have been included in the Inter Ministerial Committee. NFTE has written to Hon’ble Minister for inclusion of BSNL management in committee. The BSNL HQR also took up the matter and forwarded the representation to the DOT. NFTE’s stand has been upheld. (2) Shortage of materials in circles:- The employees are organizing functions for additional Telephone connections, However, connections are not materializing due to non-availability of materials. The situation of Tamilnadu, UP(East) etc were referred. (3) The issue of PLI was raised, CMD told the matter is getting attention and we added that we have to ensure wage revision in year 2017.

07-10-2015 : Forum Meeting with Sectary DOT & Addnl Secretary DOT:- Core Committee members of Forum of BSNL unions & Assns met Shri Rakesh Garg, Secretary DOT and requested for early settlement of 78.2% IDA merger in r/o pre - 2007 and post - 2007 BSNL retired employees. The Forum leaders also requested the Secretary to arrange nomination of an officer from BSNL management in the inter-ministerial committee to discuss and decide the financial and administrative set up of subsidiary tower sharing company. 21-09-2015 : Thanks to AIBSNLEA:- The real impediment for non-revision of pension of pre 2007 retirees as well as retired between 01-01-2007 to 31-05-2013 has been 60.40 ratio fixed by DOT in year 2006 for payment of pension. The NFTE has been raising the issue form very beginning as it was dangerous. The pension expenditures have already exceeded the 60% limit of receipts of Taxes fixed by DOT. A dangerous situation has developed which NFTE visualized from year 2006 itself. Pension cannot be linked with the Tax receipts. The future of employees pension has to be protected unitedly before it is too late.

19-09-2015 : Govt has issued orders to chop off the dead wood in Govt Sector:- The GOI, Department of Personnel, in letter No.-25013/01/2013 – Estt A- IV, dt-11-09-2015 has issued orders/guidelines to retire such Govt employees whose performance is poor and usefulness in the service is over. Similar exercise was done in year 1975-76 in the days of emergency in the country. The retirement exercise will be done periodically under FR56(j) and Rule 48 of CCS (Pension) Rules, 1972.   12-08-2015 : Resolution on Tower Company:- As per the recommendations of KPMG consultant BSNL Towers numbering more than 60000 are to be taken away from BSNL to form a separate company. We have come to know through Media that Cabinet decision is taken for the same. The approved cabinet note is yet to come to light. It is reported that separate Tower Company is for higher tenancy, commercial focus and to have strategic partner and it will be handed over to person expert in development. The Circle Secretary meeting apprehends that the decision of hiring off all BSNL aerial assets would do more harm to the financial and commercial parameters of BSNL. The Circle Secretary meeting suggest that the CHQ should take all the initiatives, Joining. with other unions to fight on this evil design and safeguard the network.
  12-08-2015 : Resolution on Outsourcing of Broad Band:- The Management of BSNL has circulated the guidelines to CGMs for expression of intents (EOI- Tender) to select firms for outsourcing of BB. Faults at subscribers premise s including ‘Line Faults’ from DP is to be outsourced. We come to know that 23rd Management committee meeting held on 08-04-2015 has given green signal for pilot schemes in major state head qrs like Chennai, Calcutta, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Dehradune and major SSAs like Pune, Nagpur, Meerut, Noida, Faridabad etc. The circle Secy meeting strongly oppose the move of BSNL management and appeal to repose faith on the work force By dialogue and discussion with unions BSNL can find solution for improving the QOs of BB and growth of BB utilizing the internal manpower fully.

  12-08-2015 : Resolution on HR Plan:- The meeting of Circle Secretaries held at New Delhi discussed thoroughly the issue of HR plan and Deloitte recommendations. The meeting analyzed the point wise recommendations of Deloittee and following action at the level of Management Committee and Board. Organisational Restructuring, Redefining manpower as per Market practice, performance culture, acquiring skills in Sales marketing, CSC, IT, – Hiring off role professionals, SSA merger, 50% Salary support from the Govt, outsourcing mtce, network are some of the decisions accepted by the board. The meeting apprehend strongly that many of the recommendations of counter productive in nature. Assurance of transfer area within the existing “SSA limit” is given and letter from Restructuring to union also assuring that there is no retrenchment and all the existing employees will be carried as till retirement with pay, career progression and all other facilities and terms and conditions at par with normal employees though shown against supernumararery. The meeting expresses it resentment for marking more than 90,000 employees as supernumararery and taking efforts for outsourcing of network. The meeting caution since that our land assets should be protected and should not be given up in the name of monetizing. The meeting appeals the management to have point wise discussion with the unions to arrive at consensuses before taking any final call on the Deloittee recommendations.
  12-08-2015 : Resolution adopted on PLI in circle Secretaries meeting :- The circle Secretaries meeting of NFTE held on Aug 10, 11th 2015 deliberated alongwith the issue of PLI and the hitherto proceedings of the committee. The meeting appreciates the efforts taken by the PLI committee members and request the committee members to finalise the formula with some assured minimum. The meeting takes cognizance of the expectations of the employees that Bonus issue should be clinched chit before Puja of this year.   18-06-2015 : PM Narendra Modi meets Ravi Shankar Prasad on BSNL revival:- NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi undertook a meeting with Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad to deliberate on the revival strategy of state-run BSNL a couple of days back. According to sources, the meeting, which took place on Monday, went on for about 45 minutes and a presentation was given to the Prime Minister about the initiatives being taken by BSNL for its revival strategy. Apart from Prasad, senior officials of DoT and BSNL were also present in the meeting. The PM wanted a complete presentation of the entire working of BSNL and the legacy issues faced by the company were outlined to him, a source said. Mr. Modi was also briefed about the steps being taken to improve the profitability of the company, the source added. Prasad had earlier said that the government was committed to reviving BSNL and a number of initiatives are in the pipeline to bring the PSU back as a market leader.
  17-06-2015 : BSNL started free WiFi Network at Tajmahal:- Hon’bel Minister for Communication & IT Shri Ravishankar Prasad started WiFi Network at Tajmahal on 16-06-2015, WiFi service will be free for the first 30 minutes, after which users can pay Rs. 20/- for 30 minutes, Rs. 30/- for an hour, Rs. 50/- for two hours and Rs.70/- for a day. Minister said, BSNL will create141 WiFi Hot spot in UP (East), connecting 17 cities and connect 37,455 village panchayats.
